Tile repair near Fogwatt

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. A repair keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Tile repair in Fogwatt without replacing anything

We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. Whether it’s damaged tile edges and chips from dropped pans and tools, we can normally put it right, on marble, floor and wall tiles and ceramic tiles alike.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

What happens on the day

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

10 questions to ask before you book

DIY repairs versus a professional job

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What tile repair costs

Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Fogwatt. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
