Tile repair near Glassenbury

Tile repair at your home in Glassenbury

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. We regularly repair natural stone & granite, porcelain tiles and floor and wall tiles, and the jobs we see most are drill holes from removed fittings and discontinued tiles you can’t replace.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the entire tiled area

Most customers in Glassenbury get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

  • Discontinued tiles you can’t replace

Glassenbury: your questions answered

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire tiled area and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can you quote from photos?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

The process

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
