What happens on the day
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to care for it.
- We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
- Next we fill the damage.
- The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
- We match the colour and pattern by hand.
- We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.
Getting ready for the visit
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire tiled area, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Related advice
Tile repair in Morthen without replacing anything
The tile stays where it is, so there’s no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. Typical jobs include cracked floor tiles and discontinued tiles you can’t replace, in floor and wall tiles, marble and porcelain tiles.
All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Questions from Morthen
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
What happens after I send pictures?
We come back with a fixed quote, typically with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.
Does someone need to be in?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Will the price change on the day?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
How quickly can you book me in?
We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Do you cover the whole of Rotherham?
We work UK-wide. Prices do not change with location.
What tile repair costs
Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Morthen. The price comes down to:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How many areas need work
- The material and finish
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Send photos for a quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A picture taken from further back
- Where you are, by postcode
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why us?
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- No extra charge for your area
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- One visit for most repairs

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
When to call us in Morthen
Dropped pans and tools chip floor tiles, and wall tiles get drilled for fittings that are later removed. Cracks can also come from movement in the floor below.
Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Cracked floor tiles
- Drill holes from removed fittings
- Chips from dropped pans and tools
- Discontinued tiles you can’t replace
What your quote should include
- Whether they match the colour on site
- How changes to the job are handled
- How your room will be protected
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
When we’d advise against a repair
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
- Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
- Whole walls of failing grout
