Tile repair for Newtown homes

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Dudley and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Tile repair in Newtown, done in place

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. The tile stays where it is, so you don’t need to find a spare. If you’re dealing with damaged tile edges and cracked floor tiles, we can usually put it right.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

When we’d advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Marble
  • Natural stone & granite

Should you replace it?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • No need to remove anything
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Questions from Newtown

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

What about drill holes in tiles?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

What happens next?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, plus dates. You are under no obligation.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Newtown and the rest of Dudley. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Can a cracked tile be fixed in place?

Often, yes, if it isn’t loose.

What affects the price in Newtown

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Newtown. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A wider photo showing the entire tiled area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Send us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your DY9 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

How to compare quotes

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
