About our tile repair in Pont-Rhythallt

The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. We work on marble, natural stone & granite and porcelain tiles, and the jobs we see most are cracked floor tiles and discontinued tiles you can’t replace.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Pont-Rhythallt questions

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do you cover the entire of Gwynedd?

All of Gwynedd, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Do you cover Pont-Rhythallt?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Pont-Rhythallt and the rest of Gwynedd. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you repair a cracked floor tile without replacing it?

Normally, if it is not loose.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Gwynedd.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Details of any past repairs

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
