Tile repair in Ranmoor

About our tile repair in Ranmoor

The tile stays where it is, so there’s no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll tell you. We regularly repair natural stone & granite, floor and wall tiles and ceramic tiles, and people most often call us about drill holes from removed fittings and cracked floor tiles.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Sheffield. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Common questions in Ranmoor

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Can you repair a cracked floor tile without replacing it?

Generally, as long as it’s still firmly stuck down.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Can you fill holes left by old fittings?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

How to compare quotes

What affects the price in Ranmoor

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Ranmoor. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • We leave the room as we found it
