Sandgate questions
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.
Do you cover the entire of Kent?
Everywhere in the UK, Sandgate included. There is no extra charge for travel.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
About our tile repair in Sandgate
We repair the tile in place, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. We regularly repair marble, porcelain tiles and natural stone & granite, and the jobs we see most are damaged tile edges and cracked floor tiles.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
Why us?
- No extra charge for your area
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
Take a look at our prices page.
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
Honest limits
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
- Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
- Whole walls of failing grout
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Ceramic tiles
- Porcelain tiles
- Marble
- Natural stone & granite
- Floor and wall tiles
What happens on the day
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.
- We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
- Next we fill the damage.
- We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.
Before we arrive
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Open a window if you can
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Advice
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Sandgate. The price depends on:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How many areas need work
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The material and finish
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Sandgate. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send photos for a quote
Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:
- The material, if you know it
- Details of any past repairs
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
