Tile repair near Scotland

Tile repair at your home in Scotland

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. Whether it’s discontinued tiles you can’t replace and cracked floor tiles, we can typically put it right, on natural stone & granite, floor and wall tiles and marble alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Landlord and trade work in Scotland

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a few hours. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Advice

How we price tile repair

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Send photos for a quote

Phone photos are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the entire tiled area

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Normally, as long as it’s still firmly stuck down.

Yes. We fill drill holes from removed fittings.
