Tile repair in Tendring without replacing anything
If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. The tile stays where it is, so you don’t need to find a spare. We’re often asked to fix drill holes from removed fittings and chips from dropped pans and tools, on marble, ceramic tiles and floor and wall tiles.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

What affects the price in Tendring
Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How much damage there is
- Access to the area
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.
Quotes from your photos
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- Something in shot to show the size
- A wider photo showing the whole tiled area
- Natural light rather than flash
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
Upload pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your CO16 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
When we’d advise against a repair
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
- Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
- Whole walls of failing grout
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Natural stone & granite
- Floor and wall tiles
- Marble
- Ceramic tiles
- Porcelain tiles
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How the visit works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a few hours. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
- We fill the chip, crack or hole.
- We shape the repair flush with the tile.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Getting a price
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a tile means breaking it out, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
Do you charge for travel?
We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
What do you need from me?
