About our tile repair in The Leigh

A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll tell you. We repair the tile in place, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. Our repair technicians work on ceramic tiles, natural stone & granite and floor and wall tiles, and people most often call us about chips from dropped pans and tools and drill holes from removed fittings.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

The process

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job generally takes a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Advice

Do you need tile repair in The Leigh?

Floor tiles chip when pans, tins and tools are dropped, while walls end up with drill holes from old fittings. Movement underneath can also crack tiles.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Chips from dropped pans and tools
  • Drill holes from removed fittings
  • Discontinued tiles you cannot replace
  • Damaged tile edges

Before you book anyone

  • How your room will be protected
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

What tile repair costs

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for The Leigh. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • One picture of the entire tiled area
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the tiled area, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What we cannot put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

The Leigh: your questions answered

Do you come to The Leigh?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to The Leigh. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
