Need tile repair in The Marsh?

Tile repair in The Marsh without replacing anything

The tile stays where it is, so you don’t need to find a spare. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. We’re frequently asked to fix cracked floor tiles and drill holes from removed fittings, in natural stone & granite, floor and wall tiles and porcelain tiles.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in The Marsh as everywhere else we work. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to The Marsh. The price depends on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the whole tiled area
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Questions from The Marsh

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in The Marsh.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Pembrokeshire, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a few hours.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. We shape the repair flush with the tile.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Advice

Common problems we fix in The Marsh

Dropped pans and tools chip floor tiles, and wall tiles get drilled for fittings that are later removed. Cracks can also come from movement in the floor below.

  • Discontinued tiles you can’t replace

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Marsh as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
