What tile repair costs

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A photo taken from further back

For a price in Three Chimneys, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

About our tile repair in Three Chimneys

The tile stays where it is, so you do not need to find a spare. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. Typical jobs include drill holes from removed fittings and cracked floor tiles, in natural stone & granite, floor and wall tiles and marble.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

10 questions to ask before booking

Questions from Three Chimneys

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you cover the entire of Kent?

We cover the entire UK, including Three Chimneys and the rest of Kent. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Are there extra charges for Three Chimneys?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working.

When we’d advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we do, step by step

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. You can expect it to take a morning or an afternoon.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let us know about parking or access

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Three Chimneys as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
