Tile repair near Tremar

Tile repair in Tremar, done in place

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. The tile stays where it is, so there’s no need to hunt for a matching tile. Typical jobs include cracked floor tiles and drill holes from removed fittings, across porcelain tiles, ceramic tiles and marble.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Porcelain tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Marble
  • Ceramic tiles

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Tremar. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • One picture of the whole tiled area
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Where you are, by postcode

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the tiled area, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repairing versus replacing in Tremar

Swapping out a damaged tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. A repair keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
