About our toilet chip repair in Balladen
Chips are rebuilt and colour matched to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. A crack that leaks cannot be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we will say so if we find one. Typical jobs include chips on the cistern lid and damage from dropped items, in porcelain, cisterns & lids and toilet pans.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Balladen as everywhere else we work. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

What we’re called out for in Balladen
Most toilet chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted, or from a dropped lid or bottle. Cistern lids get chipped surprisingly often.
Look out for any of the following:
- Damage from dropped items
- Chips on the cistern lid
- Marks on the outside of the pan
- Pieces knocked off during fitting
Before booking anyone
- How long it needs to cure
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Aftercare advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
Repair or replace in Balladen?
Replacing a toilet needs a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. A repair leaves it in place. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

How we price toilet chip repair
Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- The colour and finish to match
- What kind of damage it is
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How easy the damage is to reach
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your pictures
When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Any details about the material
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- One picture of the whole toilet
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Most clients in Balladen get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
