About our toilet chip repair in Freshbrook
A crack that leaks can’t be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that is what we find. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. Typical jobs include pieces knocked off during fitting and marks on the outside of the pan, in toilet pans, cisterns & lids and porcelain.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Avoid dropping heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- The type of damage
- The material and finish
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The colour and finish to match
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.
Quotes from your photos
Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. Try to include:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A photo taken from further back
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- What it’s made of, if you know
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Freshbrook questions
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It fades as everything cures.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Can tenants book a repair?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
What about a leaking crack?
No. That needs a new toilet. We repair cosmetic chips and breaks.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
When to call us in Freshbrook
Most toilet chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted, or from a dropped lid or bottle. Cistern lids are a common casualty.
Most people contact us after spotting one of these:
- Chips on the pan or rim
- Chips on the cistern lid
- Marks on the outside of the pan
- Damage from dropped items
What to look for in a quote
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- How your room will be protected
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
Should you replace it?
A new toilet means a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take an hour or two, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We start by cleaning and drying the damage.
- We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
- It’s sanded flush.
- We colour-match and finish the glaze.
- The repair is polished so it blends in.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
