Toilet chip repair in Hay without replacing anything

Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we’ll tell you if that is what we find. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you do not need a plumber or a new toilet. We regularly repair toilet pans, cisterns & lids and porcelain, and the jobs we see most are chips on the pan or rim and marks on the outside of the pan.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

The process

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes one to two hours, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. It’s sanded flush.
  4. We colour-match and finish the glaze.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Clear the area around the damage

What a repair can’t fix

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Porcelain
  • Toilet pans
  • Vitreous china
  • Pedestals
  • Cisterns & lids

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
