Toilet chip repair in Hillam without replacing anything

A crack that leaks cannot be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we will say so if we find one. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. We regularly repair toilet pans, vitreous china and pedestals, and the jobs we see most are chips on the pan or rim and chips on the cistern lid.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How many areas need work

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from pictures

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the whole toilet
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes an hour or two. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
  3. We sand the repair level.
  4. We colour-match and finish the glaze.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Related advice

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Should you replace it?

A new toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

See our prices page.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Vitreous china
  • Cisterns & lids
  • Toilet pans

  • Pedestals
