Toilet chip repair in Lawnhead

About our toilet chip repair in Lawnhead

Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we’ll tell you if that is what we find. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. Our technicians work on toilet pans, porcelain and vitreous china, and people most often call us about pieces knocked off during fitting and marks on the outside of the pan.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

Before and after: a damaged ceramic basin restored

Why repair rather than replace?

A new toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. A repair leaves it in place. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our full price list.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A wider photo showing the entire toilet
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

When we’d advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Vitreous china
  • Cisterns & lids
  • Porcelain
  • Toilet pans
  • Pedestals

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. You can expect it to take an hour or two, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. The glaze is colour matched and finished.
  5. We polish the repair to blend it in.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
