Toilet chip repair in Porth, done in place

Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we will say so if we find one. Whether it’s chips on the cistern lid and pieces knocked off during fitting, we can usually put it right, on toilet pans, vitreous china and cisterns & lids alike.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Avoid dropping heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we work on in Porth

How we price toilet chip repair

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

For a price in Porth, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why book with us

Porth: your questions answered

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Are there extra charges for Porth?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

How it works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to one to two hours, including clearing up.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. The repair is polished so it blends in.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
