Toilet chip repair in Racks without replacing anything
A crack that leaks can’t be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that’s what we find. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. Whether it’s damage from dropped items and marks on the outside of the pan, we can help, on toilet pans, pedestals and vitreous china alike.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Should you replace it?
A new toilet needs a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.
Why Racks customers choose us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- One visit for most repairs
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Same prices wherever you are

Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
Your questions about toilet chip repair in Racks
What information do you need?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Can you fix a cracked toilet that leaks?
No. That needs a new toilet. We fix chips and broken pieces.
Can you quote from photos?
Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

What toilet chip repair costs
Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Racks. The price depends on:
- The colour and finish to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The material and finish
We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Quotes from your photos
You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A wider photo showing the whole toilet
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
Upload photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your DG1 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
How it works
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow one to two hours. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- We start by cleaning and drying the damage.
- Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
- It’s sanded flush.
- The glaze is colour matched and finished.
- The repair is polished so it blends in.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Ensure the area is dry

Work for landlords and builders
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

When a repair is not the answer
A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- A crack that leaks water
- A crack through the bowl or trap
- A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
