Choosing a repair company

Toilet chip repair in Seaburn without replacing anything

Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. A crack that leaks can’t be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that is what we find. Common call-outs are for marks on the outside of the pan and chips on the cistern lid, on porcelain, cisterns & lids and pedestals.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Seaburn and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Avoid dropping heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new toilet needs a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Seaburn clients choose us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • No need to remove anything

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

The process

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes one to two hours, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We start by cleaning and drying the damage.
  2. We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. The repair is polished so it blends in.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Access to the area

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Seaburn. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Details of any past repairs

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.
