Toilet & ceramic chip repair in Slack, Calderdale
Damaged toilet in Slack? We repair it in place, match it on site and guarantee the work for a year.
- Repairs from £95
- Chips on the cistern lid
- Pieces knocked off during fitting

Should you replace it?
Replacing a toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How we handle toilet chip repair in Slack
A crack that leaks cannot be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we will tell you if that is what we find. Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. Whether it’s pieces knocked off during fitting and marks on the outside of the pan, we can typically put it right, on pedestals, porcelain and cisterns & lids alike.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Questions from Slack
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Do you come to Slack?
Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Slack from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Can a chipped toilet be fixed?
Yes. Chips to the pan, rim, cistern and lid are the most common jobs.
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
What happens after I send photos?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

How we price toilet chip repair
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- How much damage there is
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Any details about the material
- One picture of the entire toilet
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
When we’d advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- A crack that leaks water
- A crack through the bowl or trap
- A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Toilet pans
- Vitreous china
- Pedestals
- Porcelain
- Cisterns & lids
Work for landlords and builders
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

The process
Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes an hour or two, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
- We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
- It’s sanded flush.
- We match the colour to the glaze.
- Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.
How to prepare
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
