Toilet chip repair in Strathmiglo

Toilet chip repair at your home in Strathmiglo

Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we’ll say so if we find one. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. Whether it’s chips on the cistern lid and pieces knocked off during fitting, we can typically put it right.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Questions from Strathmiglo

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

How much does toilet chip repair cost in Strathmiglo?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Will the price change on the day?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Strathmiglo

Signs you need toilet chip repair in Strathmiglo

Most toilet chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted, or from a dropped lid or bottle. Cistern lids are a common casualty.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Damage from dropped items
  • Marks on the outside of the pan
  • Chips on the cistern lid
  • Chips on the pan or rim

What your quote should include

  • Who turns up on the day
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

How to compare quotes

Should you replace it?

A new toilet means a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Prices start from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How we price toilet chip repair

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material and finish
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes an hour or two, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning and drying the damage.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. It’s sanded flush.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. We polish the repair to blend it in.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
