Toilet chip repair near The Camp

Toilet chip repair in The Camp, done in place

We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you do not need a plumber or a new toilet. Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we will tell you if that’s what we find. Whether it’s marks on the outside of the pan and chips on the pan or rim, we can help, on cisterns & lids, porcelain and vitreous china alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pedestals
  • Toilet pans
  • Porcelain
  • Vitreous china
  • Cisterns & lids

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Camp as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Prices start from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

What you get with us

What affects the price in The Camp

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish
  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes an hour or two. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. The glaze is colour matched and finished.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire toilet, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
