Toilet chip repair in The Street

About our toilet chip repair in The Street

Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we’ll tell you if that’s what we find. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. Common call-outs are for damage from dropped items and chips on the cistern lid, across cisterns & lids, toilet pans and vitreous china.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it. Avoid dropping heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take an hour or two, tidy-up included.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. The glaze is colour-matched and finished.
  5. The repair is polished so it blends in.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

What a repair can’t fix

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cisterns & lids
  • Porcelain
  • Pedestals
  • Vitreous china
  • Toilet pans

What affects the price in The Street

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One picture of the whole toilet
  • Any details about the material
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire toilet, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Repairing versus replacing in The Street

Replacing a toilet means a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. A repair leaves it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
