Trusted toilet chip repair in The Valley

About our toilet chip repair in The Valley

Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so you do not need a plumber or a new toilet. A crack that leaks cannot be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that’s what we find. Common call-outs are for damage from dropped items and marks on the outside of the pan, across pedestals, porcelain and vitreous china.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Take care with heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

What happens on the day

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes an hour or two, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning and drying the damage.
  2. Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. The glaze is colour matched and finished.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to The Valley. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. Try to include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Pedestals
  • Cisterns & lids
  • Toilet pans
  • Porcelain
  • Vitreous china

When to call us in The Valley

Most toilet chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted, or when something heavy is dropped. Cistern lids get chipped surprisingly often.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Damage from dropped items
  • Marks on the outside of the pan
  • Chips on the pan or rim
  • Chips on the cistern lid

Questions to ask before you book

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • When it can be used again
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

How to compare quotes

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip keeps the toilet you have. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
