Coloured bath resurfacing in The Valley

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in The Valley

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Our technicians work on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays, and people most often call us about selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in The Valley and across Pembrokeshire. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow one to two days for a full suite, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for The Valley. What changes the price is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How easy the damage is to reach

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Natural light rather than flash

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What we’re called out for in The Valley

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included

Work for landlords and builders

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why The Valley customers choose us

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
