How we handle uPVC repair in Come-to-Good

The damage is filled and refinished to match the frame, including woodgrain finishes. We also do snagging repairs for builders. Common call-outs are for holes from removed fittings and alarms and damage during building work, across white uPVC, doors & door panels and conservatory frames.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth are all it needs. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Should you replace it?

Replacing the frame or sill costs far more, and new uPVC may not match the weathered frames around it. A repair keeps the original. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Come-to-Good: your questions answered

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Come-to-Good included. Travel is included in the price.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can you repair a burn on a uPVC sill?

Yes. The burn is filled and refinished to match.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What uPVC repair costs

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Come-to-Good. The price reflects:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Come-to-Good. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

What we are called out for in Come-to-Good

uPVC is hard-wearing, but it does get damaged: ladders, tools and building work scratch and chip it, candles and cigarettes mark sills, and old fittings leave holes.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Burns on sills
  • Holes from removed fittings and alarms
  • Scratches from ladders and furniture
  • Chips and dents

What your quote should include

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

How to compare quotes

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a morning or an afternoon, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We start by cleaning the frame.
  2. Scratches, chips and holes are filled.
  3. The repair is sanded smooth.
  4. We colour-match the finish, including woodgrain effects.
  5. Finally we blend it into the rest of the frame.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Make sure the area is dry

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
