Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The colour and finish to match

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Newcastle. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. Try to include:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Newcastle, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Newcastle questions

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you cover the entire of Shropshire?

The whole UK, including all of Shropshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

What happens next?

You will get a fixed quote back, usually with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First the frame or panel is cleaned.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We smooth the repair.
  4. We colour-match the finish, including woodgrain effects.
  5. The repair is blended into the surface around it.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Signs you need uPVC repair in Newcastle

uPVC is hard-wearing, but it does get damaged: ladders, tools and building work scratch and chip it, candles and cigarettes mark sills, and removed fittings leave holes.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Burns on sills
  • Damage during building work
  • Scratches from ladders and furniture
  • Chips and dents

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Newcastle use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

If you manage property in Newcastle, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Newcastle

  • Coloured and woodgrain uPVC
  • White uPVC
  • Doors & door panels
  • Window frames & sills
  • Conservatory frames

Should you replace it?

A new window, door or sill costs far more, and new uPVC may not match the weathered frames around it. A repair leaves the unit in place. Our uPVC repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
