UPVC repair in Old Dolphin

uPVC repair in Old Dolphin without replacing anything

Builders and developers use us for snagging repairs too. The damage is filled and refinished so it blends into the frame, including woodgrain finishes. Our technicians work on white uPVC, doors & door panels and conservatory frames, and common reasons people get in touch are damage during building work and scratches from ladders and furniture.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Don’t use solvents or scourers.

Work for landlords and builders

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What we can’t put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • White uPVC
  • Window frames & sills
  • Coloured and woodgrain uPVC
  • Conservatory frames
  • Doors & door panels

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing the frame or sill is a much bigger job, and new uPVC may not match the weathered frames around it. A repair keeps the original. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking.

Why choose Surface Doctor in Old Dolphin

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

How we price uPVC repair

Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the whole window, door or sill
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

How the visit works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We start by cleaning the frame.
  2. We fill scratches, chips and holes.
  3. The repair is sanded smooth.
  4. The finish is colour-matched, woodgrain included.
  5. We blend the repair into the surrounding surface.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Open a window if you can

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

  • Holes from removed fittings and alarms
  • Burns on sills
