How we handle uPVC repair in Skipsea

The damage is filled and refinished so it blends into the frame, including woodgrain finishes. Builders and developers use us for snagging repairs too. We are often asked to fix holes from removed fittings and alarms and chips and dents, on coloured and woodgrain uPVC, white uPVC and conservatory frames.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth are all it needs. Don’t use solvents or scourers.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Do you need uPVC repair in Skipsea?

uPVC is tough but not indestructible: ladders, tools and building work scratch and chip it, candles and cigarettes mark sills, and removed fittings leave holes.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Scratches from ladders and furniture
  • Damage during building work
  • Burns on sills
  • Holes from removed fittings and alarms

What to look for in a quote

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How soon you can use it again

Your questions about uPVC repair in Skipsea

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Are there extra charges for Skipsea?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a morning or an afternoon, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First the frame or panel is cleaned.
  2. We fill scratches, chips and holes.
  3. We smooth the repair.
  4. We colour-match the finish, including woodgrain effects.
  5. Finally we blend it into the rest of the frame.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Ask for a price

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your YO25 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Advice

What a repair can’t fix

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Doors & door panels
  • Coloured and woodgrain uPVC
  • White uPVC
  • Window frames & sills
  • Conservatory frames

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Repair or replace in Skipsea?

Replacing the frame or sill costs far more, and new uPVC may not match the weathered frames around it. Repairing the damage keeps the original. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why book with us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Most jobs done in one visit
