What uPVC repair costs

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Our hiring checklist

Troqueer: your questions answered

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What information do you need?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Dumfries and Galloway.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Troqueer and the rest of Dumfries and Galloway. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Repairing versus replacing in Troqueer

A new window, door or sill is a much bigger job, and it may not match the rest after years of weathering. Repairing the damage leaves the unit in place. Prices start from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Troqueer. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Troqueer use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning the frame.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We sand the repair smooth.
  4. The finish is colour matched, woodgrain included.
  5. The repair is blended into the surface around it.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

How to get a price

Advice

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured and woodgrain uPVC
  • Window frames & sills
  • White uPVC
  • Doors & door panels
  • Conservatory frames

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
