Worktop repair in Alsager without replacing anything

Different worktops need different repairs: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. The goal is always a repair that blends in. Whether it’s a damaged sink edge and a heat mark or burn, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Do not leave spills to soak in
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Watch the edges with heavy pans
  • Oil wooden tops regularly

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, particularly with laminate and timber.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse particularly around the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • A top that moves on its units
  • A cracked stone top that is unsupported
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Laminate
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood
  • Granite & marble

Alsager questions

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

How much do I need to move?

Just clear the area around the damage. The rest is covered and protected.

Can a quartz edge be fixed?

Yes. We match the colour and polish the repair.

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Alsager. What changes the price is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The material, if you know it
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire worktop, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Landlord and trade work in Alsager

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Alsager as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. Chips and burns are filled and the pattern recreated by hand.

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so scratches and burns can often be sanded out and refinished.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the area is dry

Ask for a price

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire worktop, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

How to compare quotes

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and often a new sink and hob connection. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
