Work for landlords and builders
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Newcastle upon Tyne and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Worktop repair in Battlefield without replacing anything
Each type of worktop needs a different approach: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. We always aim for a repair that blends in. If you’re dealing with scorch marks from pans and gouges in the surface, we can help, on granite & marble, laminate and solid surface (such as Corian) alike.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

How it works
We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes a morning or an afternoon, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.
- We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
- Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
- We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- Finally we seal or finish the area to match.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice
Repairing versus replacing in Battlefield
Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. A repair is matched to what you have now. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Battlefield. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Why us?
- Same prices wherever you are
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- Fixed prices from your photos
- Colour-matched on site

Repairs by material
Quartz
Quartz is tough, though edges can chip. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished.
Granite and stone
Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.
Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
What worktop repair costs
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Access to the area
- The type of damage
- Unusual colours or finishes
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Getting a price from photos
You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Where you are, by postcode
- Details of any past repairs
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
What we’re called out for in Battlefield
Most chips are on edges and corners, often when something heavy catches the edge.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Damage around the sink cut-out
- Chipped corners
- Dents and gouges
- Burns from hot pans
Questions to ask before you book
- What aftercare is recommended
- If travel is included in the price
- Who will actually do the work
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
How to care for the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Re-oil timber worktops
- Do not cut directly on the worktop
- Always use a trivet for hot pans
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.
Do not leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.
