Worktop repair in Blacklands without replacing anything

A worktop repair is carried out in your kitchen, with the rest of the kitchen protected. Most jobs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. We are frequently asked to fix snagging damage in a new kitchen and gouges in the surface, on solid surface (such as Corian), quartz and solid wood.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Blacklands: your questions answered

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What does worktop repair cost?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire worktop and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Just near the damage. You can typically still use the rest of the kitchen.

Aftercare tips

To keep it looking its best:

  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Keep a trivet by the hob

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.

A chip on an edge can grow, and water can reach the core of laminate. An early repair prevents it.

Should you replace it?

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Blacklands. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Blacklands. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

If you are in Blacklands and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so scratches and burns can often be sanded out and refinished.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Solid wood
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Quartz

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
