Worktop repair in Broad Common without replacing anything

A damaged worktop doesn’t have to mean a new kitchen. We fill and refinish the damage so it blends into the pattern. We regularly repair quartz, solid wood and solid surface (such as Corian), and people most frequently call us about a chipped quartz edge and dents and gouges.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Broad Common as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Watch the edges with heavy pans
  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Keep wood oiled

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

Don’t leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

Should you replace it?

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

10 questions to ask before you book

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the entire worktop
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the worktop, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Questions from Broad Common

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Will the repair match a patterned worktop?

Yes. We recreate the pattern by hand so it blends in.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Broad Common and the rest of Worcestershire. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can a quartz edge be fixed?

Yes, often. We match the colour and polish the repair.

Can a scorch mark be fixed?

Usually, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How the visit works

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Ask for a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Repairs by material

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished to the worktop’s finish.

Laminate

Laminate worktops have a printed decorative layer over a board core. Chips and burns are filled and the pattern recreated.
