Worktop repair in Byermoor

About our worktop repair in Byermoor

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We regularly repair laminate, granite & marble and solid surface (such as Corian), and people most frequently call us about a damaged sink edge and chips in quartz or granite.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • Severe heat marks in quartz
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Solid wood

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Do not knock pans against the edge
  • Wipe up spills quickly

Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

Do not leave damage by the sink, as water can get in and cause swelling.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What we are called out for in Byermoor

Kitchen worktops have a hard life. Hot pans scorch, knives leave scratches, and edges chip when heavy pans or tins hit them.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A chipped edge
  • A chipped quartz edge
  • Burns from hot pans
  • A dent from a dropped pan

Choosing a repair company

What worktop repair costs

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Byermoor. The price reflects:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Getting a price from pictures

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Details of any past repairs

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is usually far better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why book with us

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. Burnt or loose material is cut back.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire worktop, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
