The process
We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes a morning or an afternoon.
- The area around the damage is protected.
- We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
- It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
- The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
- We seal and polish it to the right sheen.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Let us know about parking or access
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

Signs you need worktop repair in Coalhall
Edges and corners chip most frequently, usually from pans, tins or dishes knocked against them.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Chips on edges and corners
- Cuts and scratches in the surface
- Damage to a stone worktop
- Damage around the sink cut-out

Repairs by material
Laminate
A laminate worktop is a thin decorative layer on a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.
Granite and stone
Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.
What affects the price in Coalhall
Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Coalhall. The price reflects:
- The material
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What kind of damage it is
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.
How to get a fixed quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- Any details about the material
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Email us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Coalhall, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Why repair rather than replace?
Even a single new length of worktop means templating, cutting and refitting the sink and hob. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Prices start from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Honest limits
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Laminate that has blown or swollen
- Discolouration deep in quartz
- A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Materials we repair
- Granite & marble
- Solid wood
- Laminate
- Quartz
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
Should I try a DIY kit first?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Oil wooden tops regularly
- Don’t knock pans against the edge
- Use a chopping board
- Do not leave spills to soak in
Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.
Edge chips can get bigger, and water can reach the core of laminate. An early repair prevents it.
