Worktop repair for Crabtree homes

Do you need worktop repair in Crabtree?

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan set straight down, or a heavy pan catching the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Scratches and knife marks
  • Chips in quartz or granite
  • Damage around the sink cut-out
  • A dent from a dropped pan

What your quote should include

  • Who will actually do the work
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Worktop repair in Crabtree without replacing anything

You do not need a new worktop because of one mark. We fill and refinish the damage to blend into the surface around it. If you are dealing with burns from hot pans and a chipped edge, we can normally put it right, on solid surface (such as Corian), solid wood and laminate alike.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in West Sussex.

Your questions about worktop repair in Crabtree

Do you charge for travel?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Can you repair a chipped quartz worktop?

Yes. We repair quartz chips regularly, matched and polished.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

How much do I need to move?

Just near the damage. The rest of the kitchen stays usable.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Crabtree and the rest of West Sussex. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Repairing versus replacing in Crabtree

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and frequently a new sink and hob connection. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Oil wooden tops regularly
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Use a chopping board
  • Never put hot pans down directly

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Different materials, different repairs

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Crabtree. The price comes down to:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The type of damage
  • The material
  • How much damage there is

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the entire worktop
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
