Worktop repair in Creswell, done in place
Different worktops need different repairs: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. We always aim for a repair that blends in. Our repair technicians work on solid wood, laminate and solid surface (such as Corian), and people most frequently call us about gouges in the surface and a damaged sink edge.
Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Discolouration deep in quartz
- A cracked stone top that is unsupported
- Laminate that has blown or swollen
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Materials we repair
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Granite & marble
- Quartz
- Solid wood
- Laminate
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
- Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
- We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice
What we’re called out for in Creswell
The worst damage often happens in a moment: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.
People normally call us after spotting one of these:
- Snagging damage in a new kitchen
- Chips in quartz or granite
- A dent from a dropped pan
- Cuts and scratches in the surface
What your quote should include
- Whether they match the colour on site
- What prep work is covered
- How long it needs to cure
- What happens if they find more damage
What your worktop is made of matters
Laminate
Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.
Solid surface
Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.
Repair or replace in Creswell?
Even a single new length of worktop means templating, cutting and refitting the sink and hob. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What else we do in Creswell
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

Keeping it looking good
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Dry around the sink and joints
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Keep wood oiled
- Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe spills straight away, and keep wooden tops oiled.
A burn or chip can get worse with daily use, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
