Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A top that moves on its units
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen

Worktop repair in Eastcote without replacing anything

Matching a pattern is the skilled part of a worktop repair. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand so the repair blends in. We’re often asked to fix damage to a stone worktop and damage around the sink cut-out, across laminate, solid wood and granite & marble.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, cutting and fitting a new one and refitting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. A repair keeps your existing worktop. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

What we do, step by step

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Advice

Landlord and trade work in Eastcote

If you manage property in Eastcote, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Eastcote. The price depends on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is
  • The material and finish

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Eastcote. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the worktop, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Do not let water sit on joints
  • Don’t leave spills to soak in
  • Don’t cut directly on the worktop

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.

Do not leave damage by the sink, as water can get in and cause swelling.

Repairs by material

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.
