  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

Worktop repair in Felindre, done in place

A worktop repair is carried out in your kitchen, with the rest of the kitchen protected. Most jobs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. We are often asked to fix damage from fitting or building work and dents and gouges, across laminate, granite & marble and solid surface (such as Corian).

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • What the surface is made of

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Felindre. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • Something in shot to show the size

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

How to prepare

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Clear the area around the damage

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the worktop, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Related advice

Should you replace it?

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and often a new sink and hob connection. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Our worktop repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • One visit for most repairs
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Oil wooden tops regularly
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Different materials, different repairs

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.

FAQs for Felindre

Can a quartz edge be fixed?

Yes, frequently. We match the colour and polish the repair.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.
