What a repair can’t fix
A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- A top that moves on its units
- Water-swollen laminate
- Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Laminate
- Solid wood
- Granite & marble
- Quartz
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
Worktop repair at your home in Flint
A damaged worktop does not have to mean a new kitchen. The damage is filled and refinished so it blends into the pattern. We work on quartz, granite & marble and solid surface (such as Corian), and people most frequently call us about scratches and knife marks and a chipped edge.
You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Is there any odour?
There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Should you replace it?
Stone and quartz tops are templated and cut to fit, so replacing a section takes time and money. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
What you get with us
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- One price list for the whole UK

DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Repairs by material
Laminate
A laminate worktop is a thin decorative layer on a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.
Quartz
Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them.
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Always use a trivet for hot pans
- Don’t let water sit on joints
- Do not cut directly on the worktop
- Clean spills immediately
Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.
Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.
How the visit works
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
- Burnt or loose material is cut back.
- The area is filled and shaped.
- We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
- We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.
Before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
How to get a price
Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your CH6 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
