About our worktop repair in Gallowstree Common
The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. We build up the colour and flecks by hand. Our repair technicians work on solid wood, quartz and granite & marble, and the jobs we see most are chips near the sink and a dent from a dropped pan.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Gallowstree Common. The price comes down to:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The material and finish
- How hard the colour is to match
- How much damage there is
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from pictures
When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
- We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
- A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.
Preparing for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
How to get a price
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Related advice
Should you replace it?
An identical replacement may look different next to aged worktops. A repair is matched to what you have now. Our worktop repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Do not let water sit on joints
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
- Watch the edges with heavy pans
- Chopping boards prevent scratches
Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.
Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.
Can I fix it myself?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
When a repair is not the answer
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Cracks right through stone that has moved
- A top that moves on its units
- Laminate swollen by water from underneath
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Laminate
- Quartz
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Granite & marble
- Solid wood
