Hadzor: your questions answered

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Can you match granite flecks?

We match colour, flecks and veining by hand, so the repair blends into the surface.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Do you come to Hadzor?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Hadzor and the rest of Worcestershire. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is a burnt worktop repairable?

Normally, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.

Worktop repair in Hadzor, done in place

Burns from hot pans, chips on edges and scratches from knives are the most common worktop repairs. All are repaired in place. We work on laminate, solid wood and granite & marble, and people most frequently call us about a dent from a dropped pan and chips near the sink.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What affects the price in Hadzor

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Hadzor. The price comes down to:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Details of any past repairs
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Our hiring checklist

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A cracked stone top that is unsupported
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Granite & marble
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Do not knock pans against the edge
  • Do not let water sit on joints
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.

A chip on an edge can grow, and water can reach the core of laminate. Repairing it early stops that.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is usually far better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • One price list for the entire UK

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a few hours, depending on the damage for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
