Worktop repair in Hardingstone without replacing anything

We repair worktops in place, with the area around the damage covered. Most repairs take a few hours, and you can use the worktop again shortly afterwards. We regularly repair solid wood, granite & marble and solid surface (such as Corian), and common reasons people contact us are chips in quartz or granite and chips near the sink.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Why repair rather than replace?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. A repair takes a few hours. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Make sure the area is dry

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

FAQs for Hardingstone

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote.

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. The repair is colour-matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Northamptonshire.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Do not leave spills to soak in
  • Use a chopping board

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

Edge chips can get bigger, and water can reach the core of laminate. An early repair prevents it.

When to call us in Hardingstone

The worst damage frequently happens in a moment: a hot pan set straight down, or a heavy pan catching the edge. Scratches build up more slowly, from knives and grit.

Look out for any of the following:

  • A chipped edge
  • A heat mark or burn
  • Damage from fitting or building work
  • Gouges in the surface

What to look for in a quote

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How soon you can use it again
