Worktop repair in Haydock

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Haydock. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Worktop repair in Haydock, done in place

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. Typical jobs include scorch marks from pans and damage around the sink cut-out, in solid wood, solid surface (such as Corian) and quartz.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Use a chopping board
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Wipe up spills quickly

Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe spills straight away, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.

When we’d advise against a repair

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • Water-swollen laminate

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Repairing versus replacing in Haydock

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is normally far better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Repairs by material

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
