Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Don’t let water sit on joints
  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Keep wood oiled
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, particularly with laminate and timber.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Worktop repair at your home in Hazlemere

A damaged worktop does not have to mean a new kitchen. We fill and refinish the damage to blend into the surface around it. Whether it’s chips near the sink and damage from fitting or building work, we can help, on solid surface (such as Corian), solid wood and quartz alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Hazlemere: your questions answered

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed price. You are under no obligation.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Just near the damage. You can usually still use the rest of the kitchen.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do you work in Hazlemere?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Hazlemere from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Will the repair match a patterned worktop?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, for a repair that blends in.

Repairs by material

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.

Laminate

A laminate worktop is a thin decorative layer on a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a worktop means removing the old one, templating and fitting a replacement and reconnecting the sink and hob, and it may not match the rest of the kitchen. Repairing the damage keeps your existing worktop. Our worktop repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why us?

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • No extra charge for your area

Read our prices page.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Do you need worktop repair in Hazlemere?

The worst damage frequently happens in a moment: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up more slowly, from knives and grit.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A heat mark or burn
  • A damaged sink edge
  • Snagging damage in a new kitchen
  • Cuts and scratches in the surface

How to compare quotes

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes a morning or an afternoon in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
