Burns from hot pans, chips on edges and scratches from knives make up most of our worktop work. We repair them all in your kitchen. Whether it’s chipped corners and chips near the sink, we can usually put it right, on solid surface (such as Corian), quartz and laminate alike.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

What affects the price in Humber

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work
  • The material

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Most clients in Humber get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

When to call us in Humber

Cut-outs for the sink and hob are the weakest parts, so cracks and chips frequently start there.

Most people contact us after spotting something like this:

  • Chips caused during installation
  • A chipped quartz edge
  • Scorch marks from pans
  • Knife marks

Before you book anyone

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

10 questions to ask before booking

Why repair rather than replace?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Repairs by material

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can often be sanded and refinished.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Humber

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. It normally takes a few hours.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Common questions in Humber

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What happens after I send pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
