Worktop repair for Icklesham homes

Worktop repair in Icklesham, done in place

Different worktops need different repairs: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We regularly repair solid surface (such as Corian), laminate and granite & marble, and people most frequently call us about snagging damage in a new kitchen and a dent from a dropped pan.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Open a window if you can

Quartz is tough, though edges can chip. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished to the worktop’s finish.

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, with burns and dents put right.

Icklesham questions

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Are there extra charges for Icklesham?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Will the repair match a patterned worktop?

Yes. We recreate the pattern by hand.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Icklesham included. Travel is included in the price.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Why repair rather than replace?

Stone and quartz tops are templated and cut to fit, so replacing a section takes time and money. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Our worktop repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Do not leave spills to soak in
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge
  • Dry around the sink and joints
  • Re-oil timber worktops

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. Repairing it early stops that.

What we cannot put right

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Quartz
  • Solid wood
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Icklesham. The price reflects:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area

Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

To get a price, send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We will say immediately whether it can be repaired.
